On January 10, 2023, an event was held at Pappys BBQ, 943 N. Main, Springfield to commemorate the original meeting of January 10, 1983. 10 people, Scoop, Pappy, Behr, Stewart, Bess, Butler, Lipscombe, Lorenz, Jena, gathered for the very first meeting to organize Springfield Rugby Football Club. 40 years later, Scoop, Pappy, Behr, Stewart, Butler, Bess of the original 10 were present to celebrate the event (Lipscombe sent apologies for not being present).
